Summerland minor hockey players were on the ice Nov. 26 and 27.

On Saturday, Nov. 26, the Summerland U11 Blue squad hosted the Penticton Predators. There were some great goals, spectacular saves but also dancing goaltenders.

Summerland’s Atticus “The Showman” Zaseybida Skinner was back between the pipes for Summerland. And Penticton had skilled goaltender Marshall Anderson in their nets.

At one point in the game, both goaltenders were dancing to the music.

Penticton players with outstanding games were Kaden Christensen and Aiden Renaud.

The best goal of the game came from the stick of Kira Vancha when she blasted the puck into the corner of the net: Marshall had no chance.

Another outstanding goal was when Jake Hagen slap-shot the puck past Marshall Anderson into the top of the net, dislodging the water bottle and breaking the bottle.

The three stars of the game were Maria Jonson, her best game of the season, Wyatt Langlois and defence Ben Schelter.

Two Summerland teams traveled to Penticton for games.

The U9 White squad had Broxton Hass back in nets.

The game featured an early goal by Scottie Gillespie. She had a complete breakaway and tucked the puck between the legs of the Penticton goaltender.

The game featured some nice passing from Kylie Vancha. Ethan Roach had another strong game.

The three stars of the game were Ivan Knorr, Keegan Judd and Owen Webster

In the second game, the U9 Blue team had Bryce Hotson in nets. Hotson had yet another of his good games, steady goaltending with many great saves.

Hardworking Corban Gay was rewarded by scoring several goals. Berkley Scheen had an especially good game and seemed to be involved with most of the play.

The three stars of the game were Peachland product Josh Cardiff, Gabriel Boucher and Nolan Baker.

On Nov., 27, the U11 White Jets team challenged Penticton 2 to a game.

The Penticton team outshot Summerland but Summerland had great goaltending from Jayce Turenne.

The Summerland squad was impacted by several penalties and those penalties affected the score.

Summerland’s Connor Serbon was one of the visitors to the “sin bin.”

A feature of the game was the play-making from the trio of Brooklyn Riep, Evelyn Harding and Maya Verner. These three players were easily chosen as the three stars of the game. And Summerland goaltender Jayce Turenne was named with the MacDonald Golden Moment Jersey.

Summerland’s U9 Blue squad met Penticton on Sunday afternoon.

In nets for Penticton was Grayson Baptiste Schanuel. Summerland was fortunate to have Kaylie Vancha as the goalie.

Vancha faced a lot of shots from Hudson Schootstra, Landon Dezail and especially from Penticton speedster Rowan Gabriel and Vancha made some great saves.

Summerland’s Corban Gay had another strong game, scoring several nice goals. The three stars of the game were Berkley Schenn, Ethan Roach and Everett Mix.
