Exhibit raises funds for South Okanagan Rehab Centre for Owls

Owls of all shapes and sizes are perched on the walls and display stands at the Summerland Art Gallery.

The gallery’s latest show, Who Gives a Hoot, opened Thursday evening with a gala reception

The show features a variety of wols, from paintings and photographs to taxiermy, fibre arts, ceramics and more.

Elizabeth Wrobel, president of the Summerland Potters’ Guild, said a member of the guild suggested the idea of an owl-themed art exhibit.

“They’re cute. They’re interesting,” Wrobel said of owls.

“Their eyes are fascinating, added Charlotte Bats, vice-president of the potters’ guild.

Money raised through the art show will go to the South Okanagan Rehab Centre for Owls.

The show continues until Nov. 17.
