Summerland skaters win medals at in-person competition

In late November, members of the Summerland Skating Club attended their first in-person competition in almost two years since COVID-19.

Since the restrictions were put in place, skaters had participated in one virtual competition.

At the in-person event, the club had a total of five competitors alongside head coach Louise Evans attend the 2021 Interclub Competition hosted by the Kamloops Skating Club.

As a team, they managed to snag some hardware, ribbons, podium finishes, and personal bests.

Results:

Veda Espeut-Post: Silver (Star 1)

Chloe Young: Gold (Star 2)

Kate Dodsworth: Silver (Star 2)

Brooke Mide: Third (Star 4), sixth (Star 7 Artistic), and fourth (Star 4 Elements)

Keelyn Mitchell: Second (Star 10), and second (Gold Artistic)
