Riley Pettitt led the Summerland Steam with two goals and an assist, but the home team bowed to the Osoyoos Coyotes 6-4 Friday at the Summerland Arena.

The loss sees the Steam facing elimination tonight in their Kootenay International Junior Hockey League series with the Okanagan Division regular season leaders.

Pettitt put the Steam up 2-0, but the Coyotes clawed back on a goal by Ryan Roseboom at 10:19 of the first. Opening the second period with the power play, Bryson Cecconi scored 35 seconds in to tie. The Steam built another two-goal lead on goals by Everett Scherger and Scott Robinson, only to have the Coyotes take advantage of two power plays to equal the game.

In the third period, Hunter Johnston netted the winner with 6:32 remaining and Roseboom put the game out of reach three minutes later with his third of the night and fifth point. Adam Jones made 16 saves for the Coyotes, while Matt Huber finished with 22 for the Steam.
