Mustangs senior boys volleyball hits the floor

Princess Margaret Secondary School Mustangs win two of three boys volleyball matches in Penticton

The Princess Margaret Mustangs senior boys volleyball squad went two for three in league match play Wednesday at Maggie.

The Mustangs opened the four-team event against the South Okanagan Secondary School Hornets from Oliver in the best-of-three series.

In the first game Maggie prevailed in a close contest, winning by a two-point margin 28-26.

The Hornets rallied in the second game with a 25-20 victory but the deciding contest went in the Mustangs favour, 15-13.

In the match against the Summerland Secondary School Rockets Maggie had no trouble in the first game, running away with a 25-10 win but dropped the second 27-25, ending the match with a 15-10 verdict.

The only series loss for the host squad was to the strong squad from Winfield, the George Elliot Secondary School Coyotes.

The Coyotes won in straight games, 25-15 and 25-18.

The Mustangs will be at Kelowna Secondary School for a tournament Friday and Saturday and in Oliver Oct. 17 for league play.

They will host league play again Oct. 24.
