Despite how it feels, the B.C. provincial election isn’t over yet, but it will be soon.

The final vote count, including mail-in ballots, is scheduled to begin on Nov. 6.

Starting at 10 a.m., voting results will be updated as the final count progresses.

Candidates and at least one representative per candidate may be present at the final count, and must make a solemn declaration of secrecy before observing.

Incumbent BC Liberal MLA Dan Ashton ended election night with a lead of 9,137 of 18,346 against BC NDP candidate Toni Boot’s 6,464 in the Penticton riding.

The Boundary-Similkameen riding saw BC NDP candidate Roly Russell leading BC Liberal candidate Petra Veintimilla in the race to fill MLA Linda Larson’s seat. Russell leads the election with 7,762 to Veintimilla’s 5,913 out of 16,109 so far.

In the Penticton riding, 8,074 certified envelopes were returned as of Oct. 30, the most recent information available from Elections BC. In the riding, 9,868 voters requested and received mail-in ballots for the election, and 12,240 made their decision in early voting.

In the Boundary Similkameen riding, there were 4,128 returned certified envelopes, with 5,193 mail-in ballots requested by voters.

The numbers of certified envelopes are not final and also include absentee ballots cast at district electoral offices and ballots cast outside the voter’s electoral district of residence.

Elections BC will be publishing the updated results on results.elections.bc.ca
