Summerland Quest Society hosts garden tour

This year the Quest Society will be putting together a garden tour around Summerland on June 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year the Quest Society will be putting together a garden tour around Summerland on June 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The tour is self-guided and with the ticket you will get a map of Summerland that will also show the gardens.

In these nine gardens there will be artwork put together by the Devine Arts members, who are all locals. There will be paintings, pottery and woodwork.

The tour will showcase nine gardens, focussing on gardens that grow vegetables.

“These gardens are special because these are done by people who have a love for gardening and have put lots of hard work into their gardens,” said Marilyn Topham of the Quest Society.

The event is sponsored by the master gardeners.

There are some larger gardens in Trout Creek. One of these will have coffee and cookies donated by True Grain Bakery.

This is the first year artwork has been included in the garden tour.

Topham said gardeners will be able to take some ideas because the gardens aren’t professionally done.

The Quest Society is a group of 15 women who like to help older people and students with hearing issues.

All the proceeds raised will stay in Summerland and will go towards the people of Summerland.

Tickets for this event are available for purchase at the Beanery or the Chamber on Highway 97.
