Dear Editor:
I have serious concerns about the location chosen for the new swimming pool.
The parking lot at the arena, curling, banquet room complex is many times a year overflowing.
But my biggest concern is due to the nature of the health and wellness concerns of pool users there will be handicapped spaces by the pool. Then when parents bring minor hockey players and young figure skaters with their heavy equipment bags, they will have to drop off the children and then go park and do the same to pick them up, causing traffic problems with children walking with heavy bags amid moving vehicles.
My suggestion is the corporation could work with the school district to do a land swap with the unused or seldom used playground adjacent to the existing pool. Current pool land could then be returned to the school district.
I would like to see a reworked plan before we hold a referendum for money.
I love my little town. Let’s not create logistical problems.
