Dear Editor:

The frequently advertised drawing of the proposed Aquatic Centre shows parking stalls coloured in yellow. But part of this yellow section is the existing parking stall requirements for the Harold Simpson Youth Centre and the Little Chicks Childcare buildings.

Parking stall requirements are based on the floor space of the buildings. At the open house, staff stated that this is “shared parking on municipal property”

This is a new concept for Summerland. Apparently, now one can share parking stall requirements.

But: what about the businesses who paid for parking stalls because the businesses couldn’t provide for enough parking,. Apparently, parking stalls can now be shared? This drawing is not accurate and should be removed immediately, prior to the referendum.
