February 13, 2012

Rose Wengreniuk

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Rose Wengreniuk on February 13, 2012 in Summerland, B.C. Rose was born in Calgary, Alberta on October 1, 1923. She lived in both Vancouver and Burnaby for several years. She then moved to Summerland, B.C. to be closer to her family after her husband Mike passed away. Rose worked for many years at the PNE where she made many close friends and is still in touch with her friend Doreen to this day. Rose was an active volunteer at Carlton Lodge while Mike resided there. The love she had for her family was immeasurable. Her grandkids have fond memories of going to Nanny’s house for sleep over’s that they will cherish forever. Rose had many medical challenges in her later years which she met head on. Rose fought this last battle with such incredible strength and determination the doctors called her a “firecracker”. She is survived by her son Edward (Ruth), daughters Dyan and Carol, her grandchildren Erica, James, Kimberly, Brent (Charlotte), Kelsey and Lisa. Great grandchildren Isabella, Bentley, William, Benjamin, Charlie, Austin, Riley, Jaden and Brooklynn. She was predeceased by her husband Mike, sister Eva and brother Andy. There will be a family get together at a later date.
