Peg MCKILLOP

PEG MCKILLOP (NEE STEUART) Born in Summerland BC, November 6, 1927, passed away peacefully in Penticton BC, September 10, 2008 with her daughter by her side. Survived by her loving husband Al, sister Mary Steuart of Summerland, son Jim (Patricia) McKillop of Vernon, daughter Marian (Ross) Plewman of Victoria. Also survived by her grandchildren Jayme Mckillop (Justin) and great grandson Cyrus, Joey (Sandy) McKillop, Patrick and Peter McKillop. She grew up in Summerland and graduated as a nurse from Vancouver General Hospital in 1949. After working in California and Chilliwack she met Al. They married in January, 1953 and eventually settled in Drayton Valley, Alberta to raise their family. She worked as a nurse for 30 years and was actively involved in the hospital auxiliary, both in Drayton Valley and in Summerland. Al and Peg retired to Summerland in 1980 to build their dream home, where they have lived for the past 28 years. She leaves many friends, both in BC and Alberta. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed. There was an informal private family gathering September 13, 2008 per her wishes.
