Leslie Melvin Zachary passed away peacefully at his home on August 07, 2018 at the age of 95.
He leaves behind his second wife of 35 years Lena, son Mel (Peggy), grandchildren Torey, Devon, and Kelsey (Chris), sister Shirley and brother Richard as well as nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his first wife (Mel's mother) Hazel in 1981, parents Lee and Ruth, brother Kenneth, and sisters, Velma, Audrey and Elsie.
Les was born in Ponoka, Alberta on November 13, 1922. He spent three years in the RCAF during WWII and settled in Penticton in 1949. He moved to Summerland in 1959 where his passions continued to be faith in God, gardening and preserving his produce. He freely shared his handyman skills, keen sense of humour and the abundance from his garden.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Church, Penticton on Saturday, August 25 at 1:30 pm.
