Passed away peacefully May 16, 2018 at the age of 84 years. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Beverly; children Keith (Anna), Daryl, Charlene, Diane, and Brenda; and grandchildren Emily, Dustin, Shelby, Brandon, Colin, Cayley, and Tristan. He was predeceased by his parents Emily and John Cockell, and siblings Jack, Harry, Warren, Bonna, and Willard.

Howard was born and raised in Penticton, BC where he met his wife Bev. During his life he worked on the CPR, was a member of BC Dragoons, a volunteer fire fighter, a volunteer minor hockey coach, a part-time orchardist, and an automotive mechanic, which was his lifelong career.

Howard was well known for his talent in fixing things. If it couldn't be fixed, he could build a new one. He built two of the family homes.

Howard enjoyed skeet shooting, darts, ham radio, coaching hockey, and keeping all the family cars running. He had a passion for learning about the wars or anything to do with war ships, aircraft, or trains.

Howard will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.

Thank you to the doctors and staff of the Penticton Regional Hospital and Moog and Friends Hospice House in caring for Howard in his last days.

Howard's Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the family home with family and a few close friends attending.
