Gladys Clark

Glenys Margaret Clark (Grant) was born in Indian Head, SK, on 5 August 1922, and died at Trinity Care Centre, Penticton B.C., on 23 July 2023.
Glenys was predeceased by her husband Don and daughter Patricia and is survived by daughters Margo (John), and Susan (Brian), 6 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Glenys moved to Summerland in 1947 and worked as a nurse at the Summerland Hospital.
She married Don in 1948 and remained in Summerland until a stroke necessitated her moving to long-term care in 2022. Glenys was a founding member of the Summerland Health Care Auxiliary Thrift Shop, and for several years she sat on the board of the Parkdale Housing Society. She was a member of the Eastern Star, volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society, Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic, Girl Guides, and supervised the hospital Candy Striper program. Glenys was named Summerland Good Citizen of the Year in 1993. She enjoyed golfing, taking classes through continuing education, and socializing with her many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Summerland Baptist Church on Saturday, 26 August 2023, at 11 am with a reception to follow.
