JOHNSTON, ELSIE, passed away at Summerland Extended Care October 5, 2008 of natural causes at the age of 85 years. Elsie was born November 17, 1922 in Regina, Saskatchewan and spent her childhood there. When WW II started she enlisted in the Air Force and was shipped overseas, where she met and married Bruce in England. They were both members of the Sixth Bomber Command. After the war they settled in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, raising their family there then later moving to Vancouver. Bruce and Elsie retired to Osoyoos in the mid 1980’s, spending their final years in Summerland.
Elsie was predeceased by Bruce in 1998. She will be lovingly missed by son Ted (Pamela) Johnston of Calgary, Alberta, two grandchildren; Kate and Andrew Johnston, daughter Marilyn (David) Jenkins of Ottawa, Ontario, and one brother, Cliff Morris of Vancouver.
Interment will take place Friday, October 10, 2008 at Canyonview Cemetery in Summerland. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Summerland Extended Care Unit for their care and kindness to Elsie. Messages of condolence may be sent c/o hansons@shawcable.com.
