Bruno FALZI of Summerland, BC passed away with his family by his side on November 24, 2008. His is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Maria, his sons Rino and Sergio; daughter in laws, Laurie and Tina: grandchildren Justin, Paige, Chad and Paolo; his sisters Angelina and Speranza; brother Christiano; sisters-in-laws Alda and Josephine: brotherin-laws Frank, Gio, and Rick and numerous nephews and nieces. Bruno was born October 14, 1928 in Sant’Anna D’Alfaedo, Verona, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1956 where he had a job working on the railroad in the Penticton area. He married his wife, Maria, in 1958 settled down and began his own masonry business. Bruno’s true gift was his stone work and it is visible throughout Summerland, covering Sunoka beach to Sumac Ridge Winery, Main St. to private residences too numerous to count. Bruno’s faith in God lead him to donate his time to his church, Holy Child Catholic Church, where he sat on the Church council and assisted in the construction of the new Church. Bruno’s stonework adorns the front entrance and rear wall of the church and is a testament to his faith in God. Family was also vital to Bruno and he loved having all the family together around the long table. Bruno’s generosity also spilled over to his friends and neighbours where he was always willing to help them out and never said no to any of their requests. While fishing and hunting were Bruno’s outdoor loves, his smiles and love of a good joke will always be remembered. Prayers will be held Monday, December 1st, 2008 at 7:00 pm followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 2 at 10:30 am from Church of the Holy Child, 14010 Rosedale Avenue. Summerland with Father Ferdinan Nalitan and Father Sebastien Puthenpura. Internment to follow at Canyon View Cemetery in Summerland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Providence Funeral Homes.
