August 30, 1938 – June 1, 2016
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Betty Alice Squirrell (nee Cronk). Betty was predeceased by her husband John Squirrell and brother Jim. Betty is survived by her three children Donna Anderson, Retha Marsden (Gary) and Lee Squirrell; grandchildren Craig, Beth, Kyra and Kurtis; sister Elsie Fernie (Dave), brothers Allan (Sandra) and Jerry (Lora); sister-in-law Diane, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Betty met and married John in Thunder Bay in 1959 and the family moved to BC in 1972. She (and John) acquired an extensive number of friends while involved with the Car clubs, Shriners, and various organizations including the OK Falls Legion. Betty had her hands full in many ways when volunteering and supporting the many groups that she and John belonged to.
Mom’s cheerful whistling and laughter, her feistiness - along with her quirky sense of humor- will forever be missed.
She had a memory like a magnet and was always right (or so she thought).
A celebration of Mom’s life took place on July 24, 2016. Thank you to all our family and friends for your support.
