The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen has referred the Meadow Valley Aquifer Study back to administration to develop actions based on recommendations in the study.
In a report to the regional district board, Liisa Bloomfield, engineering manager at the regional district said the aquifer, west of Summerland, has a history of water supply concerns.

A study was conducted about the aquifer capacity, especially for the communities of Meadow Valley and Faulder.
The study is still under construction and the regional district administration has not yet had the opportunity to fully explore the implications on future development decisions.
When the report is completed it will be presented to the regional district board. A document of two to three pages in length will also be developed as a non-technical summary of the analysis and reommendations.
