Upgrades approved for Olalla Water System

Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen to spend up to $225,000 for upgrades

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen will spend up to $225,000 for upgrades to the Olalla Water System.

The expenditures include pumphouse equipment upgrade, improvements to the distribution system and detailed design of water system upgrades.

In May, the regional district had approved the funding for the purchase and installation of an emergency generator. This project is already underway, but the actual cost is significantly less than originally anticipated.

As a result, at the Dec. 5 regional district board meeting, the board amended the bylaw to add other improvements to the water system.
