Summerland Timber Mart will sponsor the 10th annual Swing for Kids Charity Golf Tournament.

The fundraising event for the Agur Lake Camp Society will be held May 26 at the Summerland Golf and Country Club.

“Agur Lake Camp is the only barrier-free, wheelchair accessible wilderness camp for special needs children and adults in the entire province,” said Ken Sewell of Summerland Timber Mart.

“We have been a part of it since Summerland’s Bonnar Dowler first envisioned the camp. We are excited to take on the role of Presenting Sponsor for this year’s “Swing For Kids”. We look forward to seeing all our friends, partners, and customers at this fantastic event.”

Beth Bonten, president of the camp society, said Summerland Timber Mart has supported the camp.

“The camp couldn’t have grown as far and as fast as we have without the generosity and the care of Ken and his team. We have a lot to be grateful for,” she said.

The fundraising tournament attracts participants from around the Okanagan Valley. In addition to the golf tournament, the event also includes a banquet and live and silent auctions.

Agur Lake Camp is the only barrier-free camp of its kind in the province. It is 20 kilometres west of Summerland and is fully wheelchair accessible.
