Kendra Kinsley, chief elections officer and corporate officer for Summerland, said regular voting day is Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Summerland Secondary School.
In addition, there are two advance voting days. Advance voting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 5 and Thursday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Summerland Arena Banquet Room.
Voters will choose one mayor, six municipal councillors and two school trustees. Voters from Electoral Area F in the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen will vote at the Summerland polling stations for a director to represent them at the regional district level.
Those who are registered to vote in the last provincial or federal election will have their names on the voter lists in this election. Those not on the voter list can register on the day of the election and will then be issued a ballot. Identification must be shown to register to vote.
Those elected in the local government elections will serve for four-year terms.
