Search for witnesses: Knife assault at Kelowna bus loop

The RCMP is asking for witnesses to an incident that took place in downtown Kelowna on the night of Saturday, March 16.

Cpl. Michael Gauthier with the Kelowna RCMP said shortly before 9:30 p.m., a man was assaulted with a knife and sustained minor injuries.

Police responded to the incident and the man was taken to hospital.

Sgt. Judith Bertrand, media liaison officer for the Kelowna RCMP said that the alleged assault is believed to be an “isolated incident.”

Gauthier said now, police are canvassing the area for video footage and people who witnessed the incident.

An investigation into the events surrounding the alleged assault is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
