While the end of October is still eight months away, a Summerland man is working to organize a special Halloween parade for this year.

On Monday, council granted a temporary road closure request to Dave Simpson, in order to hold the Howloween 17 Parade.

The parade will be held downtown on Oct. 28, between 3 and 6 p.m.

The roads closed will be Main Street from Kelly Avenue to Victoria Road and Victoria Road North from Main Street to JubileeRoad.

Simpson plans to invite all the Summerland schools to participate in the parade.
