The Summerland Chamber of Economic Development and Tourism members will vote on a new name at the annual general meeting next month.
The new name would be Summerland Chamber of Commerce.
The board of directors passed a motion in October to ask the membership to change the name.
The name change will be discussed and voted on by the membership in attendance at the annual meeting March 13.
The meeting will be held at the Summerland Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre, 9710 Brown St., starting at 5:30 p.m.
The chamber’s 2012 strategic plan will be presented.
Also on the agenda will be the introduction and swearing in of the 2012 board of directors.
Thor Clausen will give the president’s report and Kelly Marshall will present the treasurer’s report.
In Summerland, each business license holder is a member of the chamber.
