Highway 97 north of Summerland will be closed for 90 minutes on Sunday, Jan. 7, due to blasting work.
Work was originally planned for Monday, but AIM Roads said its periodic blast at the site of the rockslide will now happen from 11 a.m. to 12:30 on Sunday.
The highway will be closed to all traffic for 1.5 kilometres between Callan Road and Okanagan Lake Provincial Park and reopen when all safety assessments are complete.
Blasting has been scheduled periodically in the area since an August landslide and will continue intermittently until the site is stable.
Sunday’s closure will mark the second time in 48 hours that the site has undergone blasting work.
