Environment Canada says temperatures could reach up to 30 C across the Okanagan this Mother’s Day weekend.

Sunny skies and warmer-than-normal marks are forecasted for Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Salmon Arm from May 9 to 14.

But it’s on Mother’s Day weekend, May 11 and 12, when temperatures are expected to reach 30 C.

That would be around 10 C warmer than normal for this time of the year in the Okanagan and Shuswap, according to Environment Canada.

The federal forecaster says daytime highs on Thursday, May 9, will be around 24 C.

Residents in all four cities can expect overnight lows of 5 to 12 C, from Wednesday, May 8, through the beginning of next week.
