PHOTOS: Sold-out show for ‘Juke-Box Heroes’ Foreigner in Penticton

The band’s farewell tour coincided with the recent entry in to the Rock Hall of Fame

It was a sold-out show, but there was more than one guitar when Foreigner came into Penticton on May 4.

The newly announced inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame brought every ounce of energy they had to spare to the South Okanagan Events Centre.

That energy was more than matched by the people filling the packed seats, or the voices that raised to sing along with the band’s hits.

The whole show was kicked off by the Headpins, who came in full of rockstar swagger to prime the crowd for the main event.

And what a main event it was.

Despite almost 47 years since their first album — and changes in lineups — Foreigner had the whole arena living a flashback to the rockstar days of the past.

After the main set wrapped up — with what else but Juke Box Hero — the band came back on stage to cheers for an encore.

They were joined by special local guests for the second of three final songs: The Penticton Secondary School choir joined the band to perform I Wanna Know What Love Is.

The teens looked electric as they got a taste of being on the big stage as part of a major concert, and the band made sure to recognize them for their part.
