Enjoy an evening of enchanting Christmas favourites and an audience carol sing-a-long with Tracy Fehr on Monday, Dec. 18 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Penticton.

Fehr, lyric coloratura soprano, is taking audiences on a Christmas journey from the late 12th to the 21st Century, performing in the concert, O Holy Night: A Tracy Fehr & Friends Christmas.

This holiday event also features local pianist Dennis Nordlund on harpsichord and piano, and Oliver musician Bob Park playing lute and guitar. Joining Fehr as guest vocalists are Rev. Colin Cross, pastor at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian and Sophia Zang.

Hear soaring favourites from Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s ‘Alleluia’ and Hugo Wolf’s stunning lullaby ‘Schlafendes, Jesuskind’ as well as arrangements of Silent Night, the Coventry Carol and 12th century ‘Quan vei l’aloete’ for voice and guitar.

A special treat for the audience will be a rousing sing-a-long of familiar carols accompanied by Nordlund on a Neupert double manual harpsichord. The harpsichord, a plucked-stringed instrument popular in the Baroque era will add an historic authenticity and compliment the early music selections with its rich, vibrant sound.

The O Holy Night concert takes place Monday, at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s. Tickets are $35/adult; $22/youth, for sale on Eventbrite.ca.
