An annual South Okanagan staple kicks off a busy weekend in the region.
Here’s some of what’s happening from Nov. 24 to 26:
Light Up Summerland (Nov. 24)
The region’s most popular holiday-themed light-up festival returns to downtown Summerland on Friday night.
Summerland’s Festival of Lights features around 50 vendors and live entertainment.
The festival welcomes thousands of people every year and runs on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Oliver Light-Up (Nov. 24)
Oliver’s annual festival of lights also runs Friday, with an official ceremony by town hall kicking off at around 6 p.m.

Brett Kissel makes a stop in Oliver (Nov. 25)
Brett Kissel, one of Canada’s brightest country music stars, comes to Venables Theatre in Oliver on Saturday night.
The Albertan, who is bringing The Compass Tour to the South Okanagan, has previously toured with country legends Garth Brooks and Brad Paisley.
His show on Saturday at Venables Theatre starts at 7:30 p.m.

Community give-back in Penticton (Nov. 25)
On “Small Business Saturday” a local fundraiser will give people a chance to shop from 46 brands and sip on wines from Canter Cellars, all in the name of supporting everything local.
Slow Current, a new store that focuses on sustainability, is hosting a fundraiser at 101-285 Westminster Avenue West on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Twenty per cent of all proceeds on Saturday will go back to local schools.
There is also an online component to the event at shop.slowcurrent.ca that runs from Friday to Monday.

Okanagan comedian records album at Dream Cafe (Nov. 25)
Comedian Jordan Strauss, a winner of the Calgary Funny Fest Contest, is recording his Vancouver-based comedy album at the Dream Cafe in front of a local audience on Saturday night.
Strauss will perform at two separate times, at 6 and 9 p.m., respectively.

Penticton Art Gallery 45.5 Auction (Nov. 26)
The Penticton Art Gallery is hosting its 45.5th annual auction on Sunday.
The event is free, features snacks and drinks, and runs from 1 to 4 p.m.
Close to $7,000 has been raised since July.
