At least 47 employers will be in Penticton next week for the South Okanagan’s largest job fair.
The annual Start Here Penticton Job Fair comes to the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Wednesday, March 20, with medical, hospitality, trucking and manufacturing among the featured industries.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From seasonal to part-time employment and full-time opportunities, organizations are expected to have something available for anyone currently in the market for a job.
Another 14 groups have signed up to provide employment and training resources, according to event organizers.
“As Penticton continues to grow, we need to match workers with employers, and this job fair brings together local businesses with potential new pools of job-seekers, including high school and post-secondary students,” Blake Laven, the city’s director of development services, said in December when it was announced the fair would return in 2024.
City of Penticton officials will be joined by those from the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce and WorkBC South Okanagan in making the event a reality.
Entrance to the fair is free but job-seekers are invited to register for their tickets in advance at penticton.ca/job-fair.
The list of employers who are set to take part in the event can be found here.
