Another international student has arrived in Summerland as part of the Rotary Youth Exchange program.

Ferruccio Martinelli of Milan, Italy will be attending Grade 12 at Summerland Secondary School and will be billeted by local families over the coming year.

The Summerland Rotary club has supported the Rotary Exchange program for over 40 years bringing students from around the world to Summerland for a year.

The interchange of culture and ideas is invaluable in helping Rotary meet its goals of world fellowship and peace.

More than 8,000 young people each year take part in Rotary Youth Exchanges.

Local students can get youth exchange information for the 2012-2013 academic year by contacting John Topham of the Summerland Rotary Club at 250-494-6434.
