Pop bottle refunds send kids to camp

Summerland recyclable soft drink bottles Ed Fehr child church camp

If you have an accumulation of recyclable soft drink bottles, you could call Ed Fehr who will turn it into money to send a child to church camp.

He picks up recyclables from Summerland businesses and individuals and converts them to cash at the local bottle depot.

He donates the money to the Kamloops Evangelical Free Church, which uses it to help send children to the Gardom Lake Bible Camp near Enderby each summer.

Fehr, now retired from work in a glass shop, has lived in Summerland for 40 years. He says he does not want to interfere with other bottle collection fund-raisers, but he is willing to pick up bottles to support the church camp.

He’s also known as “Fast Eddie” and his phone number is 250-494-8074.
