Special occasions in Summerland were often marked by gatherings at the lake and as you can see here, the wharf in Crescent Beach held a good number of spectators at the Peace Celebrations in 1919.
The festivities included water sports and this crowd obviously found a good vantage point to view the events.
On Sunday, Sept. 6, Summerland residents will again head for the shore when the Summerland Orca Kids of Steel and Sprint Triathlon takes place at Peach Orchard Beach—definitely an event worth viewing.
