Participants at last year’s Café Noir enjoyed coffee and wine during the special arts fundraiser. This year’s event will be on Feb. 25.

The Summerland Community Arts Council is preparing for Café Noir, its annual fundraiser, which will take place later this month.

The evening is billed as a fun-filled French affair. It will feature specialty coffees and desserts at the Art Gallery.

Participants can also take home a clay mug handcrafted by members of the Summerland Potters’ Guild.

Music this year will be by Almost a Few, an acoustic folk duo with blues undertones.

Laura Hanon, administrative assistant at the gallery, said the theme will be emphasized more strongly than in the past. “We’re going to try to make it a little more French,” she said, adding that French-speaking waiters and waitresses will be included this year.

The event will be held on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
