Platinum-selling country music artist headlines Penticton show in October

Brett Young will be at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Oct. 21

A chart-topping country-music artist from Anaheim, Calif. is coming to Penticton this fall.

Brett Young is bringing his voice, guitar and a long list of accolades to the South Okanagan Events Centre on Oct. 21.

Young, who has collected more than 5.5 billion streams of his music, recently made history when his hit single “In Case You Didn’t Know” became just one of three songs since 2017 worldwide to be certified eight times platinum.

Named the Country Songwriter Artist of the Year for 2018, Young has a total of seven No. 1 singles under his belt and already can’t wait to touch down in the Peach City this fall.

“There’s nothing better than performing live and getting to meet the fans,” he said. “I’ve loved playing shows all summer and I’m excited to continue through the fall season. Can’t wait to see everyone out there.”

After suffering an elbow injury in college, the now 41-year-old put a wrap on what looked to be a promising baseball career and began his pursuit of being a musician. Young has since appeared as a celebrity guest on hit shows American Idol and The Bachelor.

The west-coast artist has continued his radio success this summer with hit singles “You Didn’t” and “Never Til’ Now.”

Along with dominating the country-music airwaves, Young also penned a song that was featured in the 2022 film Father Stu, starring Mark Walhberg.

Tickets for Young’s show go on sale this Friday, Aug. 26 at 10 a.m.

After his stop in Penticton, the musician will be at the Abbotsford Centre on Oct. 22.
