One of the favourite activities for Women’s Institute members was their annual Operation Santa Claus, when they collected items to help make Christmas brighter in needy communities.
In 1976 there were 593 gifts prepared for distribution in northern communities.
Members gift-wrapping the parcels included Magda Fenwick, Gladys Vear, Bernice White, Vi Brown and Margaret Hagemon.
