1909 was an important time in Women’s History in Canada. A time when many women in British Columbia and throughout the world were campaigning through suffrage groups to win the right to vote. Women in British Columbia, determined to influence economic, social, and political spheres, did not secure the provincial franchise until April 5, 1917.
