Heavy snow overnight on Nov. 3 to 4 damaged a tree near the entrance to the Summerland Museum.
Large branches from the tree, still with their leaves, were broken off as a result of the snow. Caution tape was in place around the damaged tree.

Because of the damage and in the interest of public safety, the museum was closed for the day as staff waited for the damage to be cleaned up.
On Nov. 3, the community received 2.8 millimetres of precipitation, with snowfall beginning around 4 p.m., according to Environment Canada data. The snow continued through the night and into the morning.
By comparison, October, 2022 was the warmest October recorded in Vernon and Kelowna, and the second-warmest on record in Penticton.
