Garnet Valley Road in Summerland (the Brigade Trail) has been a transportation corridor

In the 1910s and 1920s, indigenous peoples from the United States frequently travelled through Summerland on their way to Vernon.

The route taken was Garnet Valley Road (the Brigade Trail) over the “Hump’ to Peachland.
