Rich and Michelle Simpson of Allform Construction, along with Sue Filek, President of Agur Lake Camp Society drew the winning ticket for the custom built garden shed on July 24.

The winner of the shed is Joel Shaw of Summerland.

The camp society is grateful to Rich Simpson for coming forward with this unique fundraising idea. He not only collected all of the materials he also volunteered his time constructing the shed. Simpson said he loves helping out in his community and that this was a fun project to work on. In fact, he may build one for himself.

Joel Shaw, who purchased his ticket in early June, was the winner and will be welcoming the shed to his yard in the next couple of weeks. The garden shed, valued at $4,500, will be craned onto a flatbed trailer from its current location at Summerland Timber Mart and trucked over to the Shaw house.

Agur Lake Camp operates B.C.’s only barrier-free wilderness campground. For most families in B.C., there are 1,700 campgrounds to choose from. For those who have a member with a disability, there is just one. Agur Lake Camp is in the South Okanagan, 30 minutes west of Summerland.

Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser by purchasing tickets.
