The water fight is back on tonight, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Penticton High School sports field.
Penticton firefighters challenge kids and families to a fun water fight after having to cancel last night’s event to fight an apartment fire.
“Bring your water guns because we’ll have firehoses,” said Penticton fire chief Larry Watkinson in a tweet.
Tuesday’s water fight was going to be the second evening the local firefighters hosted but it was all hands on deck to fight the blaze at the Singla Maples townhouse complex.
Under extreme heat conditions, Penticton firefighters managed to put out the flames in less than an hour. There were no human victims at the fire but it’s believed some pets perished.
Four homes were badly damaged in the fire.
