People of all ages are encouraged to participate in this Saturday’s Santa Rec Run fundraiser in Penticton.
Hosted by The Hoodoo Adventures, all proceeds will go back to the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society which encourages young people to get outside and stay active.
The race is set to take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., starting at the Loco Landing parking lot in Penticton on Nov. 27.
Participants will head along the Lakeshore and run through the downtown core until they find the finish line back the Loco Landing parking lot. Only runners that pre-register ahead of time at youthoutdoorrecreationsociety.ca/santa-rec-run. will be accepted.
Participants are encouraged to wear their best Christmas outfits and get into the festive spirit. Lots of prizes to be won.
The organization is giving local businesses an opportunity to get involved in this year’s event, with businesses across Penticton encouraged to decorate the race course before the festivities begin.
In addition to local workplaces donating to the organization’s programming, YORS is giving school classrooms the chance to get in on the fun.
