ANGELA BOERBOOM Miss Charity Shop Society Hello Summerland, my name is Angela Boerboom. I am thrilled to be participating in Blossom Pageant 2017-2018. I enjoy cooking, baking, and learning about the world around us. I have lived in Summerland my whole life, and I have been working on my family’s tree nursery for as long as I can remember. I would like to thank the Summerland Charity Shop Society and Bruce Hallquist for sponsoring this journey.
The following are the Blossom Pageant candidates for the 2017-2018 season. The candidates will make their first public appearance at the Summerland Festival of Lights on Nov. 24. This year, there are eight candidates as well as three new sponsors.
OLIVIA CORPS Miss Avery Law Office Hello Summerland! My name’s Olivia Corps and I am very excited to be this year’s Miss Avery Law Office. I’ve spent my whole childhood living in Summerland and enjoying all we have to offer. I attend Summerland Secondary School where I love learning about biology and cultures around the world and in our own town. During the week I take dance classes through Okanagan Dance Studios and on weekends I like to ski or spend time in nature with friends.JENNA DUCK Miss Kiwanis Hi, my name is Jenna Duck. I’m a Grade 11 student at Summerland Secondary School and I’m thrilled to be participating in this year’s Blossom Pageant. I’ve lived in Summerland all my life and I’m proud to be a part of the community. I love singing and acting as well as spending time with my family. I’d like to thank Kiwanis for sponsoring me in this year’s Summerland Blossom Pageant.TIANA FERLIZZA Miss Zias Stonehouse My name is Tiana Ferlizza, I am a classically trained singer who loves theatre, dance and just being on stage. I was born in beautiful Summerland, and raised mostly in my parents’ restaurant Zias Stonehouse, who I am proud to represent in this year’s Blossom Pageant. I am so excited to be a part of this program alongside all the lovely girls of this year’s pageant.HANNA MARSH DeBOER Miss Summerland Greenhouses Hello Summerland! My name is Hanna Marsh DeBoer and I am Miss Summerland Greenhouses 2017. I am 16 years old, I was raised here in Summerland and I’m in Grade 11 at Summerland Secondary School. Some things I love to do are skiing, swimming, traveling and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to an amazing year in the Blossom Pageant, I would like to thank Sheila and David DeBoer from Summerland Greenhouse for sponsoring me.JESSICA O’GORMAN Miss Rotary Hi! My name is Jessica O’Gorman and I am very thankful to be representing Rotary in this year’s Summerland Blossom Pageant. I am a dancer with Balance School of Performing Arts in Penticton and a part of the wellness group at Summerland Secondary School. In my spare time I enjoy watercolour painting and listening to music.CHELSEA ROBINSON Miss Fire Department Hello, my name is Chelsea Robinson and I am this year’s Miss Summerland Fire Department. I am 16 years old and have lived in Summerland my whole life. I am a Grade 11 student at Summerland Secondary School. I really enjoy playing soccer and basketball, as well as coaching soccer, and spending time with my friends and family. I am very excited to be in the 2017-2018 Summerland Blossom Pageant.KATARINA STERK Miss Yaki’s Pizza My name is Katarina Sterk and I’m excited to be Miss Yaki’s Pizza in this year’s Blossom Pageant. I’ve lived in Summerland my whole life and I’m happy to call it home. I am a competitive dancer and enjoy theatre. I like to do anything outdoors and being active in any way possible. I’d like to thank my parents for sponsoring me.
