A special bead, from Bead Trails Experience, will raise money to aid in the Red Cross’s efforts to assist those affected by wildfires in British Columbia.
The silver bead, with a small red glass stone at its centre, carries the design of a fire shield, a logo similar to that used by various fire departments.
The beads are available for a $15 minimum donation, with all proceeds to go to the Red Cross B.C. Fire Relief Fund, for short-term and long-term aid.
“As individuals, we’ve all been affected by the fires,” said Denise Whittaker of Bead Trails. “Our communities have been affected.”
Beads created by Bead Trails are available in Ashcroft, Kamloops and other B.C. communities close to this year’s wildfires.
A limited number of the beads are available at the Bead Trails Experience store on Victoria Road North in Summerland. When they have all sold, no more will be created.
