Young skates to perform at pop concert

Young skaters will demonstrate their techniques on the ice during a skating pop concert on Sunday.

Young skaters will demonstrate their techniques on the ice during a skating pop concert on Sunday.

The concert, at the Summerland Arena from 1 to 2:30 p.m., will feature around 80 skaters, ranging in age from five to 17.

Kathy Brickendon of the Summerland Skating Club said many of the younger skaters are in the Learn to Skate program, while the older ones are in a testing program and are qualifying to become skating instructors.

Admission is by donation.
