A Vernon duo snagged a top-10 finish at the PGA of British Columbia’s Tournament of Champions golf tournament held Monday, May 29, at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Course in Kelowna.

Myles Johnson and Jordan Menzies from Hillview Golf Course tied for 10th at 2-under par 70, pocketing $250.

They were seven shots back of the winners, Jeff Dagg and Dave Zibrik from Vancouver’s Point Grey Golf and Country Club, who took home their third straight title at the event. Dagg and Zibrik finished one stroke ahead of Kelowna’s Shadow Ridge Golf Club’s pair of Mark Kitts and Justin Faasse.

Kelowna Golf and Country Club’s Rob Anderson and Mike Byland put forth a valiant effort to finish in third at 7-under par.

The tournament was a best ball format, with teams made up of a club professional and club champion. With 41 teams competing, it was one of the larger fields in tournament history. The weather was incredible, with warm sunshine and cool breezes welcoming the competitors.

Adam Blair and Braxton McDonald of the Vernon Golf and Country Club shot a four-over 76, while Jesse Crowe and Jaden Hay from Armstrong’s Overlander Golf and Events Centre came in at nine-over 79. Both teams finished out of the money.
