Three players named Junior B stars of the week

Players from Summerland, Kamloops and Chase recognized for period ending Oct. 10

A Summerland Steam hockey player is one of three stars of the week for the period ending Oct. 10.

Ben Lewis was the first star named by the league, along with Zakery Anderson of the Kamloops Storm and Malachi Franklin of the Chase Heat.

Lewis, from Summerland, had a 59-save shutout performance to lead the Steam to a 2-0 win over the Revelstoke Grizzlies during his season debut.

He faced 37 shots in the first two periods and 22 shots in the final period.

Anderson, of Kamloops, helped the Storm defeat the Chase Heat in a 5-3 decision with a four-goal performance.

He has six goals in four games to lead the league.

Franklin, from Cranbrook, had four assists in two games. This season, he has amassed six assists in four games. He had three assists in the 4-2 win over the Sicamous Eagles and an assist in the 5-3 loss to the Kamloops Storm.
