Summerland Steam prepare for two weekend games

Junior B team to face Kelowna Chiefs and North Okanagan Knights in KIJHL hockey action

The Summerland Steam will play two Junior B hockey games on the weekend.

On Friday, the Steam will host the Kelowna Chiefs and on Saturday Summerland will travel to Armstrong to face the North Okanagan Knights.

The last time the Summerland and Kelowna teams met, on Sept. 25, the game ended in a 7-2 loss for the Steam.

So far this season, the Steam and the Knights have not yet faced each other in regular season play.

Both games begin at 7:30 p.m.

At present, the Steam are in second place in the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference:Okanagan Division in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

The team’s record is four wins and five losses in regular season play.

The Chiefs are in first place in the division with eight wins and one overtime loss, while the Knights are in fourth place out of five teams with one win, four losses and a draw.
