Summerland Ladies League
On July 2, the Summerland Ladies League held its Yellow Tee Challenge.
First flight: First low gross Vijai Vaagen, 88; second low gross Linda Brussee, 94; first low net Belinda Daniel, 78, second low net Val Eibner, 80.
Second flight: First low gross Marie Gallant, 97; second low gross Lil Smith, 99; first low net Janis Goll, 78; second low net Cathy MacCoubrey, 81.
Summerland Senior Men
On July 4, the Summerland Senior Men’s League played a team event. The event used the two best net scores on each hole, using the Stableford points system.
A total of 43 players participated.
Results: First Geoff MacKinnon, Kirby Sands, Jack Johnson, Harvey King, 87; second Warren Julien, Glen Brown, Ken Bridgeman, Dave Cain, 86; third Gene Benner, Bill Webster, Nick Coe, Bob Shirra, 84; fourth Dennis Wright, Edwin Helgason, Terry Steinke and Mr. Par, 84.
There were seven deuces made during the round. Norm Mackay and Warren Julien each had two, while Dennis Foyle, Jerry Sauvey and Harvey King had one each.
