Summerland Ladies Club plays ONES golf event

League play continues at Summerland golf courses

Summerland Ladies Club

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club played a game called “ONES” in which holes that begin with these letters are counters i.e. One, Seven, Eight and Nine. The score is doubled and handicap subtracted to calculate the net score.

First flight: First Vi Ward, 73; second Christine Haessig, 74; third Janis Goll, 75.

Second flight: First (tie) Marie Gallant and Marion Enns, 74; third Lynne Karaim, 75.

On Sept. 3, the Summerland Senior Men’s Club played a team format counting par points.

Results: First Peter Schnurr, Dave Evans, Mike Van Teghem and Chuck Harman, 92; second Jeff Goodis, Glen Brennan, Gary Hollingshead and Ben Par, 90; third (cb) Alf Vaagen, Jeff Clarke, Joe Beggs and Dave Cain, 88.

Sharing the deuce pot were Bob Dickeson, Bill Webster, Sandy McDowell, Bob Fortune and Ken Blower.
